Tampoule recipe


Tampoule is the clasic lebanese salad popular in the most west countries.

Tampoule Ingredients:
"30 g gruel
600 gr ripe, firm tomatoes, cut into small cubes
50 g fresh onion, chopped
400 g maidano, chopped, having removed most of the stalk
70 grams mint, chopped, only leaves
1 / 4 teaspoon grated cinnamon
1 / 2 teaspoon grated spices (or mixture of 7 different Lebanese spices)
1 / 4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 lemon, juice
150 ml extra virgin olive oil
4 lettuce, washed and trimmed


The classic recipe includes tampoule as key ingredients in maidano and tomato, small amount of fresh onion, mint and just a powdering gruel (the amount varies from family to family, or from region to region, but is still minimal compared with other herbs and vegetables). The sauce for the salad can be simple, with lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper, or to obtain more interesting by adding a mixture of 7 different Lebanese spices and cinnamon. Some add a little dried hot red pepper.

Flush the meal several times with cold water. Wringer and place in bowl. Stir with fork several times to make αφράτο.
