OYAKO DON Chicken omelette on rice bowl


 

This is one of the popular dishes prepared in a large bowl of rice: "DON-MONO. You can recognize this type of dish with their name that always end with "DON", short for "DONBURI" which is the name of the Japanese large bowl used for these recipes.


The word "Oyako" means "parent and child." So it is a big bowl of "parents and children." You understand? This does not mean that it is a dish designed for the family! I give the answer, if the parents and children here are chicken and eggs.

So the question is: how is the DONBURI with eggs and pork? You will have the answer right away in the recipe "TANNIN-DON".

INGREDIENTS: 2 cups
INGREDIENTS

100 g chicken, cut into bite size of a see Yakitori
1 onion (small or medium)
5 cm leeks (green part), optional
2 eggs
1 or 1.5 GB of rice, prepared in Japanese, see Gohan
Seasoning

2 x 1 teaspoon sugar
2 x 1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 x 0.5 teaspoon of Dashi
Utensils

1 small saucepan with lid


- PREPARATION

1. Peel onion and cut it in half. 2. Cut it by 0.5 wide. 3. Cut the leek in oblique 0.5 or 1 cm in width.

4. Put 1 / 4 cup water in a pan with 1 / 2 teaspoon DASHI. Let heat. 5. Add the leeks and half of onion. 6. When the vegetables are slightly cooked, turn the chicken.

7. Add one teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of soy sauce. Stir slightly so as to incorporate the seasoning. 8. Break an egg into a small bowl and mix well. Once the meat has changed color, pour the egg along the contour. 9. Cover with a lid. When the outline is cooked, turn off the heat while keeping the lid on the pan to cook the omelet with heat and steam remaining.
REMARKS: Slide the omelet nicely on the rice without the crushing operation is the most sensitive and difficult for this recipe. Be calm and you will arrive!
On the picture you can see that the omelette is completely cooked. The Japanese like cooking in general but if you prefer well done, leave the stove on fire a little longer (but not too!)

10. Serve half of Gohan in a large bowl. 11. Turn the omelet on rice dragging.
Repeat once more operations 4 to 11 for the other bowl.
